Savory fruit salads are officially a thing. For evidence, look no further than this recipe from Tusk in Portland, OR. (And, for the record, cucumber is a fruit.)

Back to TopDelicious accompaniment to kofte Baharat and pita chips on a hot summer day. The store was out of Fresno peppers, so I subbed a minced serrano and it was just the right amount of heat. Be generous with the sumac as it blends nicely with the other flavors.

I replaced the vinegar with an equal measure of fresh-squeezed lemon juice, used one diced jalapeno instead of the fresno chiles, added an avocado cut into bite-sized pieces, and eliminated the sumac. Delicious! Will make again.

Absolutely delicious. Perfect way to celebrate this summer's cantaloupe and cucumber.

The dressing for this did not have enough cardamom flavor for my taste, so I increased it to about 1/2tsp and that gave it the hint of cardamom flavor I was looking for. Loved the mint-sumac-cardamom-coriander flavor profile!

It's a nice touch for the look of it and the novelty of the dish but we didn't realy like it and will not make it again.
